The Schwinn Airdyne exercise bike is very sturdy and made to last. This is an upright bike, but if you have back issues I strongly suggest you rather opt for a recumbent bicycle.

However, this bike is great for hip and knee rehabilitation programs.

My friend has had a Schwinn Airdyne Exercise Bike for a number of years now and it is still going strong.

The Schwinn Airdyne AD Pro is a top contender in its class. The bike is a little longer and wider which makes it more stable, especially when you are going all out. The monitor screen is large and easy to read, which is key when you are working up a sweat and checking your stats.

  • A single-stage belt drive keeps it running quietly, although some people do complain these bikes are noisier than the other Schwinn models.
  • Progressive wind resistance system offers infinite levels to challenge yourself with.
  • RevMeter RPM gage for interval training.
  • Self-balancing foot pedals with foot straps.
  • A quiet, frictionless fan that keeps you cool.

For an intense, full-body cardio workout that builds strength and blasts calories, it’s hard to beat the Airdyne AD6. Its signature wind-resistance technology puts you in control of your workout intensity – so the more you put in, the more you get out. So in other words the faster you go, the more difficult the resistance gets.

This is one of the few stationary bikes that give you the option to work both your upper and lower body.

The Schwinn Airdyne Exercise bike comes in three different models namely:

  • Schwinn Airdyne AD2
  • Schwinn Airdyne AD
  • Schwinn Airdyne AD7

If you can afford it, invest in the AD7 as the features are better and it is worth the small extra cost. Unlike most exercise bikes, the AD6 has moving handlebars. Leg rests are attached so you can exercise two ways: Use the handlebars in isolation, or move your arms and legs together.

If you want a stationary bike that is made to last, the Schwinn Airdyne exercise bike is worth a look at. This is a simple, robust, which will help you burn fat and get fit.

Are There Any Cons?

These are the only cons I could find online from other users of the bike.

  • No training programs or user profiles on the computer.
  • The seat only adjusts vertically; the AD7 is more ergonomic
  • Quality control has room for improvement
